In most schools and colleges the examination is used as a chief means of deciding whether a student succeeds or fails in mastering a particular subject. Although it does the job quite efficiently, its side effects are also enormous.
The most undesirable effect is that examinations encourage bad study habits. As the examination score is the only criterion for his academic performance, a student is driven to memorize mechanically rather than to think creatively. Examinations do not motivate a student to seek more knowledge, but to restrict his reading; they do not enable him to study consistently throughout the semester, but to induce cramming during exam week. Examinations also lower the standards of teaching. Since teachers themselves are often judged by examination results, they are often judged by examination results, they are reduced to training their students in exam techniques. And no subjects can be taught successfully merely through being approached with intent to take examinations.
Actually, few of us admit that examinations can contribute anything really important to the students' academic development. If that's the case, why can't we make a change and devise something more efficient and reliable than examinations?
Habits, whether good or bad, are gradually formed. When a person doesa certain thing again and again, he'll be obliged to do it in the same way by some unseen force. Thus habit is formed. Once a habit is formed, it is difficult and sometimes almost impossible to get rid of it. It is.therefore very important that we should take care in the formation of habits.
Good habits have many advantages. Going to bed early and getting up early makes us healthy. Diligence helps to succeed. Honesty helps:: win the respeet and trust of others.
If we form bad habits, such as rudeness, laziness, lying and stealing, we might be mined by them.
We ought to keep away from bad habits and try to acquire habits good for ourselves and others. ( 133 words)

Sally is my best friend. She is a girl. Both of us are good at English, so we often talk in English in our spare time. After school, we often do homework together. When we are playing, she runs so fast that I cannot catch up with her. She is an excellent student. She likes pop and classical music. Her dream is to become a teacher. I love my friend Sally.

"Ah! The evening of the New Year's eve is really beautiful." There are all kinds of singing, dancing and small things, especially magic shows. I like them best.
During the magic trick, the magician took out a picture of three fish from three different directions to a place, and he also prepared a fish tank. After that, the magician touched a fish on the screen, then covered his hands and put his hand in the bowl. Miraculously, the fish swam into the fishbowl. Then the host asked the magician to put the fish back to the picture. The magician takes a bouncing fish and then presses the fish in the picture. The fish really comes back to the picture. There was a round of applause at the party.
I watched the program with great concentration. The atmosphere of the party was cheerful, warm and peaceful, which added a lot of joy to our New Year's eve. I'm sorry for the kids who didn't watch the party, but you still have the chance to do it on New Year's eve next year. Don't miss it!
